Collet – 32

Description

A collet is the slotted sleeve that grips the cutting tool inside the spindle of a CNC router. As the spindle nut is tightened, the tapered collet closes evenly around the tool shank, centering it and holding it against cutting forces at high speed. The 32 in the name refers to the collet series size, which must suit the spindle nut and taper.

Collets are wear parts. Replace one when bits slip, chatter marks appear, tools run out of center, or the bore shows scoring or rust. Clean the collet, nut and spindle taper before every assembly, snap the collet into the nut first, and tighten with the proper wrenches without over-torquing.

Each collet in a series is made for one specific shank diameter, so state the exact diameter of the tools you use alongside the 32 size. If you are not sure which series your spindle accepts, measure the old collet or bring it to the Top Laser outlet in Shubra for comparison.
