Autonics PRL08-1.5DN sensor

Description

The Autonics PRL08-1.5DN is a cylindrical inductive proximity sensor. Following Autonics model coding, it has an M8 threaded body, a 1.5 mm sensing distance and a DC NPN output. It detects metal without contact, so CNC routers, laser cutters and plasma tables often use it for homing or as an axis limit.

Its flush design lets it sit level with a metal bracket, but the short sensing range means the gap to the target must be set carefully. If homing becomes inconsistent, recheck that gap, clean chips off the sensing face, confirm the LED lights when metal passes, and inspect the cable where it flexes. Avoid over-tightening the mounting nuts.
