Description

The plastic tube holder is the cradle that supports the glass CO2 laser tube in the rear compartment of a laser cutting and engraving machine. Fitted in pairs, these holders carry the tube's weight, keep it level with the first mirror and, when lined with a soft material, help absorb vibration that could stress the glass.

Replace a holder if it is cracked, warped by heat, or no longer keeps both ends of the tube at the same height. Tighten the clamping band only until the tube cannot slide, because over-tightening concentrates pressure on the glass. After any change to the holders, recheck alignment to the first mirror, since a small shift in tube height moves the beam.
