Silicone laser mirror
Description
This silicon laser mirror, often listed as silicone, is a reflector made on a silicon substrate with a reflective coating, used to direct the CO2 laser beam along the machine's beam path. Seated in the mirror mounts between the tube and the focus head, it turns the beam through each corner of the gantry.
Silicon mirrors are light and reflect well, yet they are more brittle than metal ones, so they need careful handling. Never tighten the retaining ring hard against the mirror, and wipe it only with soft lens tissue moistened with a suitable cleaner. A mirror with a chipped edge, peeling coating or a dark burn spot should be replaced rather than cleaned again and again.
Measure the diameter of the mirror seat in your mounts before you order, and check the thickness so the retaining ring still closes properly. If you prefer, bring the old mirror to any Top Laser branch or send us its measurements, and we will help you choose the right replacement.
