Metal laser mirror

Metal laser mirror

Description

The metal laser mirror is a reflective optic built on a metal substrate, used in CO2 laser machines to steer the beam from the tube across the gantry to the laser head. A typical machine has three mirrors in the beam path, and each one must reflect the beam with as little power loss as possible.

Metal mirrors tolerate handling better than glass or silicon optics, but their reflective surface still degrades with smoke, dust and spatter. Dull patches, burn spots or scratches reduce the power reaching the workpiece and can distort the beam. Clean it gently with optics cleaner and a lint-free swab, handle it by the edges, and realign the beam path after fitting a new one.

Check the mirror's diameter and thickness against the mounts on your machine before ordering, and count how many you need for a full beam path. Top Laser's spare-parts outlet and branches supply laser optics, and our technicians can advise whether metal or silicon suits your work better.
