P80 Electrode Plasma (Copper – Nickel)
Description
The electrode is the part inside a P80 plasma torch where the arc starts and stays anchored during cutting. This version has a copper body with nickel plating. At its tip sits a small emissive insert, usually hafnium in air plasma torches, which carries the arc while the surrounding copper conducts current and sheds heat.
As you cut, the insert slowly erodes and leaves a pit in the face of the electrode. Once that pit becomes deep, arc starting gets harder, cut quality drops and the nozzle begins to wear faster too. Check it whenever you open the torch, keep the air dry and oil-free, and avoid long pilot-arc firing in open air.
Several makers produce P80 consumables, so compare your current electrode's length and shape before ordering, and change it with the nozzle when both are worn. You can order it from Top Laser's spare-parts outlet in Shubra or any of our branches; if you are unsure, bring the old electrode and we will match it on the spot.
