HyperTherm Electrode

Description

This electrode is a consumable for Hypertherm plasma torches. It sits at the centre of the consumable stack, receives the cutting current and anchors the arc at its emissive insert, while its copper body draws heat away so the insert wears evenly.

Hypertherm torches rely on consumables that fit together precisely, so mixing parts from different sets, or pairing a new piece with a worn one, can shorten their life. Inspect the electrode whenever you change the nozzle: a deep or off-centre pit, discoloration or melting at the tip means it is time to replace it. Seat it fully, keep the torch threads clean, and use clean, dry air.

Hypertherm makes different electrodes for different systems, torches and current ranges, so the part number on the packaging or the model shown on the power source is the most reliable reference.
