HSD Spindle 4 HP (3 KW)

Description

The spindle is the motor that grips the cutting tool and spins it at high speed on a CNC router. This HSD unit is rated at 3 kW (4 HP) and runs from an inverter that controls its speed, making it a fit for routing wood, MDF, acrylic and similar sheet materials.

A spindle needs attention when it whines or sounds unusual, vibrates noticeably, runs hotter than normal, leaves rough edges because of runout, or no longer holds the tool firmly. To protect it, warm it up at low speed before heavy cutting, keep the collet and its seat clean, never set the inverter above the rated speed, and make sure the cooling system is working.
