HQD spindle 4.5 HP (3.5 KW)

Description

This HQD spindle, rated at 3.5 kW (4.5 HP), is the heart of a CNC router: the high-speed motor that holds the cutter and sets how hard the machine can drill, pocket and profile. It is driven by an inverter that supplies the right frequency for each speed, and its rating leaves headroom for deeper passes and denser materials.

Clamp the spindle firmly in its mount and tram it square to the table so surfacing passes do not leave ridges. If it is water-cooled, always start the pump before the motor turns, and enter the nameplate voltage, frequency and current into the inverter to prevent overheating. Periodically turn the shaft by hand with power off; roughness or noise can point to bearing wear.
