Description

This 160W air compressor is the air-assist pump used on CO2 laser cutting and engraving machines. It pushes a continuous stream of air through the laser head and out of the nozzle, blowing smoke and debris away from the cut, limiting flare-ups on wood and acrylic, and helping keep the focus lens clean.

When the pump starts to wear, the airflow at the nozzle drops, cut edges show more charring, the unit runs hotter or louder than before, or it struggles to start. Check the tubing for kinks, cracks and loose joints first, then clean or replace the intake filter, and make sure the compressor sits on a stable surface with space around it for ventilation.

When ordering a replacement, confirm the 160W rating, the supply voltage on the old unit's nameplate and the outer diameter of the air hose so the fittings connect without adapters.
