Open-ending Timing Belt – 1 meter

Description

An open-ending timing belt is a toothed drive belt supplied as a straight length rather than a closed loop, sold here by the metre. On laser and CNC machines it carries motion from the motor pulley to the axis, with each end fixed in a clamp on the moving carriage or gantry.

Replace the belt when you see cracked or missing teeth, frayed edges, exposed reinforcing cords, or a glazed tooth surface. A slipping or stretched belt typically produces shapes that do not close, dimensions that drift during a job, or stepped edges on circles. Tension matters: too slack and the belt skips teeth, too tight and it overloads motor bearings and pulleys. Cut the new length square, seat the teeth fully in both clamps, and check that the belt runs centred on its pulleys.

Belts differ in tooth profile, pitch and width, and these must match your pulleys exactly. Read the code printed on the back of the old belt, measure its width, then order the metres your axis needs from Top Laser.
