Swirl ring HyperTherm
Description
The swirl ring sits between the electrode and the nozzle inside a Hypertherm torch. Small angled holes in its wall force the incoming gas to spin around the electrode, which centres and constricts the arc, while its insulating body keeps the electrode and nozzle electrically separated.
Because it outlasts the electrode and nozzle, the swirl ring is easy to forget, yet a damaged one causes an erratic arc and short consumable life. Each time you change consumables, look for cracks, chips, burn marks or blocked gas holes, and replace the ring if it was involved in a torch failure or double arcing. Handle it with clean hands and keep grease away from it.
Hypertherm swirl rings differ by torch and current rating, so the torch model or the number printed on the old ring decides which one you need. Pass those details to Top Laser, or bring the old ring to our Shubra outlet, and we will match it alongside any electrodes and nozzles you are ordering.
