Description

This is a switching power supply that converts AC mains into a regulated 15V DC output, rated for up to 5A. In laser and CNC machines, units like this feed low-voltage circuits such as certain control boards, sensors, relays or small cooling fans, depending on how the machine is designed.

Typical signs of failure include a dead indicator LED, an output that reads low or fluctuates on a multimeter, an audible buzz, bulging capacitors, or connected devices that reset at random. Before replacing it, check the input fuse and the wiring. When installing, connect live, neutral and ground to the right terminals, observe the output polarity, and leave space around the unit for air to circulate.
