Linear guideway carriage HG-20
Description
The HG-20 carriage, also called a linear block, is the sliding part of a linear guideway system on CNC routers and laser machines. It rides on a hardened rail through rows of recirculating balls and carries the gantry or head with low friction. The 20 in the name indicates the rail size it fits.
A worn carriage tends to feel rough or notchy, develops play that you can detect by rocking the gantry, or leaves marks on cut edges. Grease it through the nipple on a regular schedule, wipe dust off the rail, and if you must slide it off, use a dummy rail so the balls do not escape.
The carriage must match the rail size, so confirm it is size 20, then check whether your machine uses the flanged or the square block style and compare the mounting hole pattern. Our parts team at Top Laser can match it from a photo or from the markings on your current block.
