Large Coupling

Description

A shaft coupling joins the shaft of a stepper or servo motor to the ball screw or lead screw it drives, transferring rotation while absorbing small misalignments. This large version is intended for bigger shaft diameters such as those on the higher-torque axes of CNC routers and similar machines.

Symptoms of a worn or slipping coupling include dimensional errors, steps or lines in the finished surface, a clicking sound when the axis changes direction, and visible cracks in the flexible section. Clamping screws can loosen with vibration, so check them regularly. When fitting a new coupling, align the motor and screw carefully before tightening so the coupling is not forced to bend.

Order by the two bore diameters, because the motor side and screw side are often different, along with the outer diameter and overall length of the old coupling.
