Driver 783

Description

Driver 783 is a motor driver of the kind used on the motion axes of CNC routers and laser machines. It sits between the motion controller and the axis motor, receiving command pulses and supplying the current the motor needs to move accurately and hold position.

A failing driver can make an axis move erratically, vibrate, stall under load, or stop entirely while the other axes work normally. Note any status or alarm lights first, as they help separate an overcurrent, a wiring fault or a supply problem. Inspect the motor cable and connectors, because a shorted motor lead can destroy a new driver as quickly as the old one. Before removing the faulty unit, photograph its wiring and record every switch setting.
