Ammeter

Ammeter

Description

This ammeter, or current indicator, is usually fitted to the control panel of CO2 laser machines and wired into the laser tube circuit to show the current flowing through the tube as it fires. That reading tells the operator how hard the tube is really being driven, regardless of the power percentage set in software.

Use it as a routine check by comparing readings for the same job over time, since excessive current shortens tube life. A reading stuck at zero while the laser fires, or one that jumps erratically, can mean a faulty meter, a loose connection or a fault elsewhere in the high-voltage circuit, so switch off and let the circuit discharge before touching any wiring.

Ammeters differ in measuring range, analog or digital display, and the size of the panel cut-out, so check the scale printed on your old meter and measure its body. A clear photo sent to Top Laser is usually enough for our team to point you to a matching indicator for your machine.
