Water pump for chiller

Description

This water pump is the circulating pump of an industrial chiller, the cooling unit that serves laser machines. It moves coolant from the chiller's tank through the hoses to the laser tube or laser source and back again, so heat is carried away continuously and the laser can work at a steady temperature.

A tired pump often triggers the chiller's flow alarm, makes a grinding or humming noise, runs hot, or delivers a visibly weak return stream. Before blaming the pump, check that the tank is filled to the correct level, the filter is clean and no hose is pinched. Never run the pump dry, since running without water can quickly damage its seals and impeller.

Pumps differ in voltage, flow rate, head and connection size, so copy these values from the nameplate on the existing pump, along with the chiller model.
