Lens tube

Lens tube

Description

The lens tube is the barrel at the bottom of a CO2 laser cutting head. It houses the focus lens, positions it at the right height above the workpiece, and usually carries the nozzle through which assist air is blown onto the cut. Its length is tied to the focal length of the lens it is designed for.

Most lens tube problems come from what happens around the lens: smoke and spatter deposits, a missing or perished O-ring that lets dust in, or a lens refitted upside down. A plano-convex lens is normally installed with its curved side facing the incoming beam. Damaged threads, a dented barrel or a deformed nozzle seat make it hard to keep the beam centred in the nozzle, and then the tube itself should be replaced.

Tell us the diameter and focal length of your lens and how the tube attaches to the head, or bring the old tube to Top Laser's spare-parts outlet in Shubra or any branch to match it directly.
