SPT Tube

Description

SPT tubes are glass CO2 laser tubes that act as the beam source in CO2 engraving and cutting machines used on wood, acrylic, leather, fabric and other non-metal materials. Inside the tube, an electrical discharge through the gas mix produces the beam, and the surrounding water jacket keeps the glass cool.

Installation largely decides how well a new tube performs. Handle it by the glass body, support it evenly without overtightening the mounts, and insulate the high-voltage joint carefully. After fitting, realign the mirrors from the tube to the head, and avoid running constantly at maximum current; watching the ammeter helps keep the tube within a sensible range.
