SP Tube

SP Tube

Description

The SP tube is a sealed glass CO2 laser tube, the part that actually generates the beam in a CO2 engraving and cutting machine. A high-voltage supply excites the gas mixture inside, producing infrared light that the mirrors carry to the cutting head, while water flowing through the outer jacket removes the heat.

Tubes wear out gradually. Common signs are falling power, so jobs need slower speeds or higher current to cut the same material, and a change in the colour of the discharge glow. A cracked jacket, condensation on the glass, or arcing around the high-voltage end needs immediate attention. Always confirm that water is flowing and that no air bubbles are trapped in the jacket before firing.

To pick the right replacement, measure the length and diameter of your current tube and note its rated power from the label, then check that your power supply and chiller can drive and cool it. Top Laser's CO2 specialists can review these details with you and help fit the tube correctly.
